Letter to Claire's Friends

June 28, 2008
To All Claire's Dearest Friends,

Claire had been so dreadfully ill since her early 20s. She never gave up. Yes, she needed support, as do we all. My daughter was the most positive person I have ever met, no one will ever surpass her. She was a lover of people and animals. Her life was to reach out to everyone in need of companionship or support in any way she could. Claire is now with Sadie, Suzie, her mummy, and our dog Peque. Their ashes to be mixed together and placed in a garden of rememberence.

Her friend Crystal, from New York, wrote a poem which I read out at the service. I would like to share it with you.

My Special Friend Claire.

You showed me how to smile
When I was in the dark.
You showed me how to laugh
When there was nothing else.

Your wisdom spoke the answers
Of lifes daily troubles.
For eveyone your hand of guidance
Bestowed them reassurance.

Through hospital stays and rock chick gigs
You smiled and rocked along.
Let nothing bring you down, you say
Your life will still go on.

The children and pets loved you
For your generosity.
No amount was too small to share
In your big giving heart.

The day has come for you to rest
And let the others go.
In the heavens your loved ones await,
Your Sadie and Mum will rejoice you once more.

With all our love we miss her so
Crystal, Shirley & the kitties

They are all happily together now. Take good care of yourselves. Keep Claires love and strength in your hearts. Think of her from time to time, it will help you all.

Tony.
